Best of Wine Tourism Awards 2022 edition
Best Of Wine Tourism awards 2021 is taking place. The initiative developed since 2003 by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network – International Network of Capitals of Great Vineyards, in which the Municipality of Porto represents the wine regions of Porto Douro, Porto, and Vinhos Verdes.
Companies that develop wine tourism activities in the Douro, Porto, and Vinhos Verdes region may compete, and services that stand out for excellence and innovation will be awarded in one of the following categories: Accommodation; Wine Restaurants; Architecture and Landscape; Art and culture; Innovative Experiences in Wine Tourism; wine tourism services; Sustainable Wine Tourism Practices.
The winner of each category enters, in a second phase, the international competition, being a candidate for a Global prize, which is awarded by a jury composed of representatives from all cities/regions that are members of this network: Mendoza; Harbor; S. Francisco-Napa Valley; Adelaide-South Australia; Bilbao-Rioja; Bordeaux; Cape Town-Cape Winelands; Lausanne; Mainz-Rheinhessen; Valparaiso-Casablanca Valley; and Verona.
More than the Best of Wine Tourism Awards
In addition, a new edition of the People’s Choice Award will be held, so that the public can also vote for their favorite.
This is considered a unique opportunity to promote and communicate each brand in the tourism and wine sectors, due to the media attention given to the competition and its awardees. The contest winners also benefit from the possibility of joining this worldwide wine tourism network and benefiting from the sharing of knowledge in this area.
In the particularly difficult context for tourism in which we live, this competition becomes even more relevant, allowing us to project our region and our best wine tourism offers internationally. Applications must be submitted by the 16th of July 2021.
