National Coach Museum

National Coach Museum is a cultural and public utility space in Belém civil parish. Paulo Mendes da Rocha said that “The Museum has no doors and relates to all of its surroundings”. In fact, the Museum project worked in different directions, that could connect Portuguese history and provides a public utility space for Lisbon.

National Coach Museum

Two concerns coexist in the concept of the Coaches Museum in Lisbon. The primary need to expand the exhibition area of the museum and its technical support infrastructure. Second, it is mandatory new attractions in continuous mode in the future.

The National Coach Museum building has a main hall with a suspended nave and an annex, which is connected by an overpass. This option allows circulation from one building to the other. The infrastructure allows temporary and permanent exhibitions, reception halls and develops workshops for conservation and restoration. These workshops are a strong contribution to this unique legacy, which should be precise and respect the art on each piece.

Facilities of the National Coach Museum

The facility also has a Library, Auditorium, and Archive. The Auditorium allows the organization of several cultural activities which are perfect to improve the scope of the public programs. You will find also restaurant services, tourist information, and Museum Shop, where you will be able to acquire gifts related to the Museum.
